GEORGETOWN DOG PHOTOGRAPHY

Darlene Woodward is the author and photographer behind Tails of the Northshore, an official chapter in the Tails of the World series of books. Published in 2021, her book features features over 50 dogs (and one bunny) photographed throughout Boston’s North Shore and raised over $3000 for the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, an animal care and adoption centre.

When the call went out to photographers to help us with the Tails of the World Book, Darlene joined us once again. She raised another $1000 for MSPCA by photographing thirteen dogs in Georgetown, Massachusetts. Located within the gorgeous rocky coastline of Boston’s North Shore, Georgetown is one of the area’s many historic towns, surrounded by hillsides and coastal plains. The dogs of Darlene’s shoots explored the local salt marshes, historic buildings, coast and forest.

Greenbelt's Allyn Cox Reservation, Essex

This reservation offers stunning views of an impressive New England salt marsh.

Rockport

Rockport is a quintessential New England coastal historic spot that showcases the most often painted building in America, Motif #1. Frankie was photographed at Bradley Wharf and Koning was photographed at Front Beach.

Newburyport

Newburyport is brimming with potential photoshoot locations - from sunset at Plum Island Beach to the peaceful Harborwalk and bustling downtown.

Zero at Georgetown-Rowley State Forest

Finally, Darlene hiked for 10 minutes to photograph the stunning Zero at this colourful overpass on Interstate 95 in the Georgetown-Rowley State Forest. Zero’s mom describes him as “part cat, part wolverine, who is masquerading as a dog.”
