TORONTO DOG PHOTOGRAPHY

Alexander Memorial Gardens is a hidden gem within the city of Toronto, Canada. Built to honour the man who composed the nationally beloved song, “The Maple Leaf Forever” in 1867, the Gardens feature blooming flower beds, decorative stone balconies and, of course, plenty of maple trees.

In 2022, Terri Jankelow joined the Tails of the World project, uniting with professional photographers around the globe to help raise over $22,000 for pets in need. She photographed ten Toronto dogs at the Alexander Memorial Gardens, to raise $1000 for Just Paws Animal Rescue.

Frankie

Alexander Memorial Gardens is a hidden gem within the city. The gardens offer a nice variety of backdrops within a small area making it perfect for mini sessions. Frankie is a sweet natured Bichon/Poodle mix who brought a great deal of love into his owners home.

Bella

Bella was a complete terror as a puppy but became the sweetest, most adorable dog! Unfortunately Bella had a thyroid condition which caused her to struggle with her weight and limited her mobility, but this did not dampen her spirit! Bella passed away about a week after her session and will be sorely missed.

Betty Belle

There are so many places to pose a dog at Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens making it a great place for a photo session. Here is Betty Belle posing at one of these great spots. Betty Belle provided so much joy and companionship to another Golden Retriever in the family, a senior who had recently become very depressed.

Dodger

Dodger is one of 3 dogs that the family rescued from Just Paws Animal Rescue. He has a heart of gold and helps all their foster dogs feel comfortable. I thought that he looked gorgeous in the blue bells that were blooming in the gardens during the spring photo session.

Finnley

Finnley was rescued from Just Paws Animal Rescue. The family say that he rescued them! He has been their sidekick in all adventures, hiking, swimming, canoe trips and running. He is a ham who lets his Mom take thousands of photos of him for his instagram account!

Finn

The family got Finn, a Portuguese Water Dog as a playmate for their active son. They are thrilled with their choice! Finn looked good no matter where in the city gardens we asked him to pose.

Ginger

Ginger is a sweet Pomeranian/Poodle who looks and acts so much younger than her 11 years! She seemed to smile for the camera. The photo session was a gift to her from her father.

Oreo

Oreo, a rescue Sharpei, was a "foster fail." He came from Korea. He was originally a challenge to his owners but has improved in leaps and bounds with his "stranger danger" fears. He was a perfect model, looking great in all the spots that we photographed him within Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens .

Toby

Toby came into his owners life 12 years ago when she was 20 and the two of them developed a close bond through obedience and agility. He has survived cancer and cruciate ligament repairs. Now that his agility days are over, he enjoys doing tricks for treats, long walks, and cuddles.

Oscar

Oscar is a sweet and loving Wheaten Terrier. His Mom says "“Whomever said diamonds are a girls best friend never owned a dog.”

I have many years of experience training dogs and have achieved winning awards and titles with my own dogs in obedience and agility competitions. This experience enables me to work with puppies, shy dogs, the elderly and the wild at heart.
