BOULDER DOG PHOTOGRAPHY

At the base of the Rocky Mountains is Boulder, Colorado. Hippie culture thrived here in the 70s and the town has retained a lifestyle rooted in arts and the outdoors. It is also is a dog lover’s dream, from pet-friendly restaurants in the city, to miles and miles of nearby hiking trails.

In 2022, Marsha Steckling of Evie Photography joined professional pet photographers around the globe for the Tails of the World project. She raised $950 for Longmont Humane Society, by photographing dogs at six unique locations around Boulder, Colorado.

Marsha met Mia and Sophie for a splash at Wonderland Lake and Coot Lake. Then in Chautauqua Park, she photographed Kaiser, Bennet and Harper against the epic backdrop of the Flatirons mountain. Special needs dog, Tiny Tim, was photographed at the University of Colorado and Bosco the therapy dog against the ochre-coloured sandstone of the People’s Crossing Trailhead.

Bosco The People's Crossing - Boulder, Colorado

Bosco is a Tri-Colored Spaniel and a certified therapy dog. He is his owner’s constant companion and travels with her upwards of 70,000 miles per year via airplane in addition to their road trips. He is obsessed with his mom's socks and intentionally gentle with her grandparents who are in their 90's.

Kaiser Chautauqua Park - Boulder, Colorado

Kaiser is a 4 year old Great Dane. He loves to explore all the dog parks and trails of Colorado. His favorite toys are a squeaky ball and a pig that oinks. His other favorite pastime is going for drives with his head out the sunroof; feeling the wind and bringing smiles and laughter to those around us.

Tiny Tim University of Colorado Boulder - Boulder, Colorado

Tiny Tim is a 13 year old Chihuahua who has a special bond with his pet guardian. She adopted him when he was 6 years old after he had been dumped on the road in Arkansas. He is a special needs dog and has a very sweet demeanor and loving personality.

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

I have been photographing dogs professionally since 2007.  I fell in love with dog photography after volunteering at an animal shelter in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, where I also adopted my two dogs.

Since then, I have photographed over 3,500 dogs for my local shelter and many, many more for my clients.  I live in Boulder, Colorado and enjoy hiking, Friday night happy hour, watching movies and spending time with my family.
