Desi and Bella at Dishman Hills Conservation Area in Spokane Valley, Washington, USA

In just a couple miles of hiking, you can feel like you're on top of the world at Dishman Hills ... and that's without ever leaving Spokane Valley. The views at Eagle Peak and Nimbus Knob are exquisite and the perfect place for epic portraits of dogs.

Ollie at Saltese Uplands Conservancy Area in Liberty Lake, Washington, USA

Saltese Uplands is an incredible spot to spend a few hours hiking in the Inland Northwest. The basalt rock outcroppings are a great place to sit and drink in the incredible views of the Selkirk Mountains. You'll also catch the eagles and hawks native to Eastern Washington soaring above and looking for their next meal in field mice and squirrels.

Stella at Plantes Ferry in Spokane Valley, Washington, USA

Hop on the Centennial Trail at Plantes Ferry and go for a *long* stroll through Spokane and Spokane Valley. The trail covers 40 miles from Lake Spokane to the Idaho border and much of it runs right along Spokane River. Coyote Rocks is a popular spot, especially for dog lovers. The swimming hole is a perfect place to cool off in the dry summer heat.

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Angela Schneider is the Chief Memory Maker at Big White Dog Photography in Spokane, Washington. Angela’s work focuses on celebrating dogs at epic locations in the Inland Northwest, which includes Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

Angela and her best friend Bella, aka The Most Beautiful Girl in the World, spend their spare time driving around to find new locations where Angela can spotlight dogs doing dog things.

Because when we allow dogs to be dogs, we can immerse ourselves in their world and allow them to teach us and change us. For the better.
